We exist to glorify God as a Spirit-led community, making Christ known

Our Vision

To glorify God (Romans 11:36; Isaiah 48:11)

Our existence as a community of believers is to fulfill God’s eternal purpose in bringing glory to His Name (Ephesians 3:11).

Our vision is to become a discipleship-focused church:

Our Mission

To be a Spirit-led community (Galatians 5:16-26, Matthew 22:35-40)

By engaging a deeper life in Christ that is transformed by the Holy Spirit.

By belonging in a loving community for the glory of God. This consists of care, commitment and authenticity with each other as Christ demonstrated for us (John 13:33-34). We were not made to live in isolation. This is what the Bible calls church.

To make Christ known (Matthew 28:18-20)

By fulfilling the Great Commission – proclaiming the gospel of Christ and to make disciples of all nations (i.e. locally and globally).

By demonstrating proclaim what it means to be a Spirit-led community. We can’t have one without the other.

By being an active member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance family, and thus, by engaging in missional living as part of our DNA.

Our Values

The core values of Scarborough Community Alliance Church are the Scripture-based pillars that our congregation holds onto as the foundation on which we build our community. As a body of believers, we:

Find freedom in Worship (Ephesians 3:12)

We glorify God by worshipping and lifting His name on high.

We rejoice because Christ’s death and resurrection has freed us from our sin, which separated us from God. While worship can be manifested in different forms, our spirits are united in the freedom of being able to approach the throne of God without hesitation, judgement or guilt.

We are to constantly worship God in our lives. All that we do; every thought, word, action are for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Are dependent on Prayer (Ephesians 3:14-21)

We cannot do anything without prayer. Jesus Christ has restored us to be in perfect union with God. Therefore, we can come to our God in prayer in everything. Our heavenly Father longs to reveal to us the mysteries of His wisdom, the wonders of His love, and His plan for His Church.

Are rooted in the Word (Ephesians 3:4-5)

We believe the Bible is the written, inspired and inerrant Word of God. It completely reveals the story of His love, and plan of salvation for all people. The Bible is the foundation of our faith and we devote ourselves to encounter God through the teaching, study and application of the Bible personally and corporately.

Are grounded in Love (Ephesians 3:17b-19)

It is the love of God in us, not our own good intentions, that drives our thoughts and actions. As a body of believers we long to live out what it means to be one with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit so that our relationship with one another and with this world would reflect the infinite love of our triune God.

To be a Spirit-led community requires us to be relational, intentional and authentic with one another. Our primary focus involves discipleship, mentorship and small group ministries.

Make plain the Gospel (Ephesians 3:8-9)

The Gospel is God’s story of love and salvation to a lost world and we are messengers of this good news. Whether in word or deed, at home or abroad, our lives will shine in a world of darkness, bearing witness of the love of our Father, the power of Christ’s blood and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit.

We exist to reveal the truth of this Gospel and make it plain for those who do not yet know the joy of Christ as their personal Saviour.

We are a church that actively supports and sends out International Workers to all nations.

We are a church that actively engages in the community around us.
