COVID-19 UPDATE

A message from our Senior Pastor, Victor Lee:

In light of the rapidly developing situation around COVID-19 and based on the recommendations from our Government authorities, Scarborough Community Alliance Church (SCOMMAC) has decided to suspend all in-house worship services and ministry gatherings (e.g. small groups and fellowships) from March 16 – April 5.

We at SCOMMAC are still committed to provide a way to worship and to connect with God as a church community for you, your family, and those you may be reaching out to.  We will be transitioning to a digital on-line church worship service and we recognize that this will be quite different but our commitment remains the same…to strive to spread the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially in these uncertain and unprecedented times.

What do you need to know?

  • Sunday on-line worship will take place at 9:30am here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEHkRXsIrGN6DSwgrqVHvvw
  • Based on the recommendation from the Ministry of Health and our Government, all Church ministries and planning meetings are encouraged to use online or conference call formats only (more to come).
  • The doors of the church will be closed for a 3 week period (March 16 – April 5).  We will monitor the situation closely and prayerfully and seek to keep you updated concerning any changes.
  • These changes are required out of love and care for everyone in our church family, and especially for those in the more vulnerable sector.

What do you need to do?

  • If you haven’t already registered, please send us your email address so that we can send you the most up-to-date information.  You can do so here: https://scommac.churchcenter.com/people/forms/112766
  • Stay in touch with your ministry leader(s) and coordinator(s) for alternative methods to keep connected.
  • Continue to pray, witness, and live out your faith in God so that others can see how Christians are steadfast in times of uncertainty because of our sure hope in Jesus Christ.

We will re-evaluate at the beginning of April to determine our next steps.  We want to be wise, caring, responsible, and compassionate during this time.

So, join us each Sunday morning in your homes for our service, and let your friends, co-workers, and neighbors know that we have a message of hope for everyone.
